For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen . . .

UnTapped Miracles
Walt Whitman agreed with Scripture in his poem "Miracles": *
So did Albert Einstein. "There are
only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is." *
The word "miracle" has two meanings. It is defined as 1) an action
or event that apparently contradicts known scientific laws or 2) a remarkable
thing. The first describes the signs and wonders we read of in the Bible.
Miracles of that kind are extremely rare--even in the Bible. The second
definition, however, refers to what I believe Whitman, Einstein and the
above Scripture describe -- perceiving the presence and unique working of
God in our ordinary, everyday lives and world.
We are vitalized and revitalized when we see God working in our lives in
special ways, causing his presence to be known and felt. Not sensing this,
however, we can lose our joy and gratitude. Our spiritual energy, if not
replenished, begins to evaporate.
The purpose of this year's 50-Day Spiritual Adventure is to revisit some
of the standard means God has provided which help us to perceive his presence
and his working in us and through us. We've already considered "the
good side of tension" (see the prayer to the left) and "24/7 faith".
In the 6 remaining Sundays of the Adventure, we will look at 6 more miracle
sources we can tap for the spiritual energy we desire and need in our walk
with God.
I'm looking forward to it and hope you are too.
