"because . . ." v.9 b. Expecting Blessing 2:10-23 a. v.10-19 Expecting immediate blessing 1) "Give careful thought to the past v.10-17 A worship principle from the Levitical worship system v.10-13 that which is holy/consecrated for temple worship becomes unconsecrated by contact with what is not consecrated for worship v.10-12 that which is defiled for worship contaminates what is consecrated v.13   Application of the worship principle to God's people v.14 "So it is with this people and this nation in my sight. . ."   An inventory of recent hardships in light of the worship principle v.15-17 "give careful thought" "consider"   2) "Give careful thought" to the immediate future v.18-19 "From this day on I will bless you" (see Matthew 6:33) b. v.20-23 Expecting ultimate blessing 1) A final universal "shaking" of the world's godless kingdoms v.20-22 (see Hebrews 12:18-29)   2) The establishment of God's King over all nations v.23
