Welcome. We're so glad you stopped by. At Evangel we want to be a place of extraordinary kindness, grace, and humility. When you visit our community, we hope you feel welcomed and accepted among us. You matter to us, and we're thankful for the chance to get to know you better. Our prayer is that you find our church to be a safe and inviting place where you can share your story and move with us toward Jesus, regardless of your background.

The birth of Jesus is a tangible message that God wants to dwell with humanity.  In spite of the messes of our world, God chooses to come and pursue us and show us His goodness.  This December we will look at how Jesus is with us, how He has shared our experience, He knows our weakness and limitations, our fear and dependence.  He knows our suffering and pain.  Through God’s presence with us, we find hope and courage to follow Him with all we are.

Join us at 9:30 or 11 a.m. to experience the hope of Christmas through God’s incursion.

Dec 3rd - In weakness & dependence – Christ’s Temptation
Dec 10th - In fear & apprehension – Garden of Gethsemane
Dec 17th - In rejection & pain – Sham trial

Christmas Eve, Sunday Dec 24:
Three candlelight service options at
11:00 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
We will have the same order of service at each.

Take a look around and you’ll see that there's a lot going on at Evangel. People from all over the Copper Country—Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, Chassell, Lake Linden, Michigan Tech, and Finlandia University—gather at Evangel.  We are purposeful about community. Our church programs—children, youth, mothers of preschoolers, women, men, college, Chinese, Korean, internationals, and many others—are designed with you in mind. We want to meet you where you are and we desire to respectfully, graciously, and patiently help you process the good news of Jesus that really changes lives. Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, we welcome you.

We meet Sunday mornings in Houghton, two blocks west of the MTU campus on College Avenue, and we’d love for you to join us at 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. We sing the same songs and hear the same message in each service. Click here to find out What to Expect.

C4 is a discipleship process we use to further our spiritual growth. We come together in worship to celebrate God and his work in our lives. We connect through various social events so we can fulfill his command to love others. We study God's word so that he can change us to be a better reflection of Christ. And we commit our talents to furthering the gospel and helping those in need.
